Instruction: Repair flood damaged ceiling , and to replicate using fibrous plastering methods, heavily embossed paper ceiling tiles.
Our task was to carefully remove a paper tile without damaging it, and stick it down on the workbench. Once this was done we greased the tile using tallow, put a shallow timber frame around the outside to create a shutter ready for the pour. We then poured plaster onto the tile and levelled it off to the top of the timber frame, once this had set, we removed the frame which left us with a slab of plaster. On the underside of that slab was whats called the reverse mould which was now ready to start taking casts from. .
